Indulgent and Wealthy Behavior vs. Virtuous and Righteous Conduct

The wanton sons live in ease and luxury, indulging in drinking and gambling, reveling in extravagance and arrogance, without selfrestraint, and pursuing only pleasure, caring little for selfimprovement and seeking only comfort, and are ridiculed by others.

The virtuous and righteous maintain integrity and courage, have a pure and modest heart, observe propriety and integrity, uphold personal ethics and principles, exercise selfdiscipline, and strive for benevolence and righteousness, winning others over through virtue.
