Once upon a time, there was a young boy who loved to play outside. One day, he was playing in his backyard when he noticed a bird's nest high up in a tree. Excited, he quickly climbed up the tree to get a closer look.
As he peered into the nest, he saw three tiny eggs nestled inside. Suddenly, the mother bird returned and began to flap her wings frantically, squawking loudly. The boy was surprised by the bird's reaction and quickly climbed back down, feeling a little scared.
When the boy told his mother about the incident, she explained to him that the mother bird was just trying to protect her eggs and her baby birds. She said the bird was not attacking the boy, but was simply doing what any good mother would do to keep her family safe.
The boy realized that he had not considered the bird's perspective. He had been so focused on his own excitement about the nest that he had not stopped to think about how the mother bird might feel. From that day on, the boy became more aware of how others might see things differently than he did.
