Gentlemen, take a look at this humble abode,
Where girders are patched, the walls are thin.
I am poor but my heart is as serene as still water,
My humble abode is filled with the fragrance of books.
I have scraps to wear, yet my mind is content,
I have few visitors, but solitude brings me joy.
In this little cottage, I embrace simplicity,
I find peace in the company of my thoughts.
Bitter cold or scorching heat can never disturb me,
My faith in the Tao remains steadfast and unwavering.
As long as I have books to read and wine to drink,
What more could I possibly need in this world?
So let the rain beat on my roof,
And the wind rattle my door.
I shall remain unmoved,
For my spirit is as sturdy as the mountains.
In this humble abode of mine,
I have found true happiness and contentment.
I ask for nothing more,
For I am truly blessed.
